Rights Respecting School Award

Thank you to pupils, parents, staff and governors who helped us achieve this award!

We are proud to announce that The Sherwood School has recently become an official Unicef Level 1 Rights Respecting School.

“Unicef works with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive”.

Achieving this award has promoted more open discussion amongst the children and has made them feel empowered in their daily life at school.

The School Council devised these charters to ensure pupils enjoy learning in a safe and caring environment.

All classes agree on a class charter in September. This clearly states class expectations for the year. Children know what their RIGHTS are and how they RESPECT the rights of other children.
