Welcome to the Year 5 Class Page.

Hello and welcome to Year 5. The team this year are Ms Matharu and Mrs Philp in Elm Class and Miss Heidar in Beech Class with Mrs Abrehart.

We are really excited to be working together as a year group, especially knowing that we have such a lovely bunch of children! As a team, our focus this year is to ensure that all the children in Year 5 make outstanding progress to achieve their full academic potential as well as developing confidence and independence.

The learning in Year 5 has been carefully planned using a growth mindset approach to ensure that all children are engaged and succeed in their learning challenges whilst making learning fun (our top priority!).

In order to make the Year 5 curriculum more relevant and exciting for the children, it is delivered through a literacy-rich medium, using texts which are linked to our learning in other subject areas, for example, history or geography.
